Ramya Eunice, a 12-year-old African American girl, tragically lost her life on April 30, 2017, in Jacksonville, FL. The incident occurred during a birthday party sleepover at a home in the Lackawanna neighborhood. Around 1:45 a.m., Ramya was accidentally shot in the head by an 11-year-old boy who found a gun at a neighboring, unoccupied home. The bullet struck her in the ear and on the left side of her head.
