Mansur Harris, a 39-year-old Black male, tragically lost his life on May 7, 2017, in Palm Beach, Florida. The incident occurred outside Foster's Shak, a bar located on Belvedere Road near Palm Beach International Airport. According to witnesses, Harris and Casey Daniels, who were friends, were seen arguing outside the bar early that morning. The altercation escalated, and surveillance footage captured Daniels following Harris to his car and shooting him multiple times in the torso and head.
Harris succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Casey Daniels, also a resident of West Palm Beach, was arrested a week after the incident. Initially charged with first-degree murder, Daniels later pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Circuit Judge Kirk Volker sentenced him to 20 years in state prison, taking into account the more than four years Daniels had already spent in the Palm Beach County Jail.
