Tearra Garrett, a 23-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on December 21, 2017, in Jacksonville, Florida. Tearra was dropped off at UF Health Hospital with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival. The circumstances surrounding her death were immediately suspicious, prompting an active homicide investigation by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
