Lyons, who also goes by the name McKinsie Sharp, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, the murder of an unborn child, burglary, and possession of a firearm by a felon. Authorities revealed that Solorzano was pregnant at the time of her death, adding another layer of tragedy to the case. Lyons was accused of ambushing Martinez and Solorzano during a home invasion, which was captured on a home surveillance camera. The footage showed Lyons and his accomplice, Samona Ramey, forcing their way into the home, leading to the fatal confrontation.
