On a summer evening in Baltimore, the life of a promising young man was violently cut short. Marcus Tafari Samuel Downer, a 23-year-old Black male, was shot and killed on Sunday, July 26, 2015. The fatal incident occurred around 7:43 p.m. in the 5500 block of Rubin Avenue, a location tragically close to his grandmother's home.
