According to reports, Joseph was shot and killed by his 25-year-old son, Trenton Lauwereins. The fatal shooting happened during an argument between the father and son. Trenton, who had locked himself in his bedroom, fired a rifle through the closed door as Joseph was banging on it and yelling.
This resulted in Joseph's immediate death.
