Eric Michael Rugg, a 30-year-old man from New Smyrna Beach, Florida, was found dead on July 10, 2019, in Ocala, Florida. His body was discovered between an Auto Zone and a Shell gas station on South Pine Avenue around 4 a.m. The initial investigation revealed that Eric Michael Rugg had been shot and his body was likely moved to the location where it was found. Authorities recovered a 2007 GMC pickup truck suspected to be involved in the crime from a parking lot in Putnam County.
