On April 10, 2020, the tragic deaths of 10-year-old Kailani Vasquez and her 13-year-old brother, Kaeden Vasquez, occurred in Spring Hill, Florida. The siblings were found deceased in their home alongside their father, Derick Albert Vasquez, 43, in what authorities determined to be a murder-suicide. The Hernando County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call from a woman who had received a suicidal text from Derick Vasquez.
