On a cold December evening in Baltimore, tragedy struck the family of Leroy Sweets. The 41-year-old Black man was fatally shot on December 18, 2015. The incident that claimed his life unfolded in the 2400 block of West Fayette Street, a detail noted in a city homicide database. His death was later acknowledged in a Spring 2016 newsletter from the Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office's Family Bereavement Center, a somber listing among other victims of violence in the city.
