Danny Blackmon Jr., aged 34, tragically lost his life on February 1, 2021, in Cantonment, Florida. The girlfriend attempted to perform CPR on Blackmon but was forcibly pulled away by her mother, Dawn Lucille Sluder, who was later arrested at a nearby convenience store.
The investigation into Blackmon's death led to the arrest of two individuals: Dawn Lucille Sluder and Jonathan Taylor Hobbs. Both were indicted on charges of first-degree premeditated murder. Sluder, the mother of Blackmon's girlfriend, was accused of conspiring to have Blackmon killed. Hobbs, who was also involved in the incident, was charged with first-degree premeditated murder with a firearm. The events leading up to the shooting were described as a chaotic and deadly series of events, with Sluder reportedly having a history of conflict with Blackmon, including a prior armed home invasion at Blackmon's residence involving Sluder's mother and her boyfriend.
