William Hope Jr., a 35-year-old resident of Lake Butler, Florida, tragically lost his life on March 19, 2022. The incident occurred when Union County Sheriff's Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of SW 1st Terrace in Lake Butler. Upon arrival, they discovered that William Hope Jr. had been fatally shot. The investigation quickly identified Anthony Lydell George as the primary suspect in the shooting.
George had also shot two other individuals, Latasha Holton and Marquha Mabery, who sustained injuries but survived the attack.

The sentencing brought some measure of justice to the family and friends of William Hope Jr., who had been deeply affected by his untimely death. The case highlighted the ongoing issues of gun violence and the impact it has on communities, as well as the importance of law enforcement and judicial processes in addressing such crimes.
