Gayla Scott, a 42-year-old former resident of Lee County, was tragically found dead on April 21, 2022, at John Stretch Memorial Park near Lake Okeechobee, Florida. She was one of two individuals discovered shot to death before sunrise at the park, located on U.S. 27 west of South Bay.
