Ricky Lemar Jones, aged 44, tragically lost his life on June 10, 2022, in Orlando, Florida. The incident occurred at a Family Dollar store located on South Orange Blossom Trail. On that fateful morning, deputies responded to reports of a shooting at the store around 6 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered two men with gunshot wounds in the parking lot. Ricky Lemar Jones was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his back and was immediately transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The other victim, a man in his 20s, was also taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds but was reported to be in stable condition.
The investigation quickly led to the arrest of Patrick Thomas Alcereau, a 33-year-old man, who was charged with first-degree murder with a firearm and attempted first-degree murder with a firearm. According to the affidavit, surveillance footage showed Alcereau fleeing to a nearby hotel, where he changed clothes before leaving the area. Further investigation revealed that Alcereau had a potential relationship with a woman who was present at the hotel. She informed deputies that Alcereau had appeared distressed and asked her to order a Lyft for him to leave quickly. She also mentioned that Alcereau had previously accused her of cheating on him and had recently been upset over her buying weed from Jones.
The other shooting victim provided crucial information, stating that Alcereau had claimed Jones owed him money before the shooting.
