The National Black Justice Coalition and the Human Rights Campaign have both issued statements mourning Semaj's loss and calling for an end to the violence against transgender individuals.
The investigation into Semaj's murder continues, with the JSO conducting interviews and gathering evidence. The lack of immediate leads has been a source of frustration for those close to Semaj, but there remains hope that justice will be served. The case has also drawn attention to the broader issues of anti-transgender violence and the need for systemic changes to protect vulnerable communities. As the investigation progresses, Semaj's family and supporters remain steadfast in their pursuit of justice, ensuring that his life and legacy are not forgotten.
