On the evening of January 8, 1965, Mildred Ratinoff Weiss, a 48-year-old housewife, was tragically killed in San Gabriel, California. Mildred and her husband, Morris, had just arrived at their apartment at 312 E. Live Oak when they were approached by Robert Lee Massie, a convicted felon. Massie, intending to rob them, shot Mildred twice in the stomach, resulting in her death.
