Richard John Klass, a 24-year-old police officer with the Daly City Police Department, tragically lost his life on June 9, 1966, after succumbing to injuries sustained in a violent encounter a month earlier. On May 6, 1966, Officer Klass was involved in an incident while attempting to apprehend a suspect who had fled from custody.
