Alfred Ray Turner, a 35-year-old officer with the California Highway Patrol (CHP), tragically lost his life on December 4, 1975, in Los Banos, California. On that fateful night, Officer Turner was patrolling Interstate 5 when he stopped a vehicle at around 10 p.m. due to a burned-out headlight. Unbeknownst to him, the vehicle had been stolen earlier that evening in San Leandro.
