Rhonda Faye Lyons, aged 26, tragically lost her life on October 1, 1982, in one of the earliest mass shootings in the United States. The incident occurred at the Mother Lode Bar in Sacramento, California, where a gunman opened fire during an "end of summer" party. The shooter, identified as Douglas Mozingo, indiscriminately fired an automatic rifle and pistol into the crowd, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including Rhonda, and injuring nine others.
