Deputy Sheriff Michael A. Gray, aged 40, tragically lost his life on January 13, 1983, after succumbing to gunshot wounds sustained ten days earlier. On January 3, 1983, while on patrol in Felton, California, Deputy Gray attempted to question a transient in front of a business located at 5805 Highway 9.
