Sheila Lorta, a 16-year-old cheerleader from Paramount High School in Paramount, California, tragically lost her life on September 30, 1992. Sheila was caught in the crossfire of a gang-related shooting as she crossed the street in front of her school. The incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. on September 30, 1992, and she succumbed to her injuries approximately 12 hours later at Charter Suburban Hospital.
