Peter John Aguirre Jr., a 26-year-old deputy sheriff with the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, tragically lost his life on July 17, 1996, while responding to a domestic disturbance call in the Ojai area of Ventura County, California. Aguirre, who had been serving as a deputy for over two years, was investigating a family disturbance on North Encinal Avenue in Meiners Oaks.
