Charles Andrew Lazzaretto, a 30-year-old investigator with the Glendale Police Department, tragically lost his life on May 27, 1997. Lazzaretto was ambushed and fatally shot while investigating a domestic violence case at a warehouse in Chatsworth, California. He and his partner, Investigator Art Frank, were searching for Israel Chapa Gonzalez, a suspect accused of severely beating his girlfriend, Mischell Bowen, and using a stun gun on her.
