Chad Nathan Stotz, a 36-year-old man, vanished in Yakima, Washington, on July 10, 2015. At the time of his disappearance, he was experiencing homelessness and was known to frequent the homeless camps located near the river. Despite his transient lifestyle, Chad maintained regular contact with his family, including his mother. He is described as a Hispanic and/or White/Caucasian male, standing at 5'9" and weighing around 190 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has several distinctive tattoos, including on his left arm, left hand, right hand, and upper right arm. The circumstances surrounding Chad's disappearance are troubling and complex. On the very day he was last seen, a shooting occurred at a homeless camp near Harlan Landing, resulting in the injury of a woman. Investigators discovered Chad's DNA at the scene of the shooting, suggesting a possible connection to the violent event. However, the investigation was hampered by a lack of cooperation from witnesses, including the victim of the shooting. This has led to speculation that Chad may have been involved in the incident or become a victim of foul play connected to it. Complicating matters further, Chad was a registered Level One sex offender and was required to check in with law enforcement weekly, a requirement he had consistently met until he went missing. The investigation into Chad's disappearance has explored various leads and potential connections to other criminal cases. There were rumors linking his case to the murder of Norma Emmerson in November 2015, but no concrete evidence has ever substantiated this theory. Another man, Cody Turner, went missing from the same area just a few weeks after Chad, and it was known that the two men had mutual friends and knew each other. This proximity in time and social connection has led to theories that their disappearances might be related. Unverified claims of a video showing an assault on Chad have also surfaced, but the existence of such a video has not been confirmed by law enforcement. Despite the passage of time and the various theories, Chad Stotz's case remains unsolved, and his family continues to search for answers. The Union Gap Police Department continues to investigate his disappearance and seeks any information that might lead to his whereabouts.
