Shayne Daniel York, a 26-year-old Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy, tragically lost his life on August 14, 1997, in Buena Park, California. York and his fiancée, also a sheriff's deputy, were off-duty and visiting the De’Cut Hair Salon when two armed robbers stormed in. The robbers ordered everyone to lie face down on the floor and began collecting wallets and purses.
