Filberto Henry Cuesta Jr., a 26-year-old police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, tragically lost his life on August 9, 1998. Officer Cuesta was on duty, responding to a disturbance at a large party when he was ambushed. While waiting for backup units in his patrol car, shots were fired from behind the vehicle, and one bullet struck him in the head.
