Gary Stephen Webb, an investigative journalist renowned for his controversial "Dark Alliance" series, was found dead on December 10, 2004, in his Carmichael, California home. Webb's death was officially ruled a suicide by the Sacramento County Coroner's Office, despite the unusual circumstance of two gunshot wounds to the head.
