Daniel Gene "Dan" Walters, a former professional baseball player turned San Diego Police Department officer, tragically passed away on April 23, 2020, at the age of 53. His death was a direct result of complications from injuries sustained in the line of duty on November 12, 2003. On that fateful night, Officer Walters and his partner were providing backup during a traffic stop involving a domestic violence suspect.
