Frankie Acosta, a 50-year-old Latino man, was fatally shot on June 28, 2007, in Avocado Heights, California. The incident occurred at 2302 Holford Street in Whittier, where Acosta sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at 1:20 a.m. on the same day. The shooting also injured his brother, Johnnie Acosta. The confrontation that led to the shooting was reportedly related to gang activity in the neighborhood.
