Esther Rubio, an 11-year-old girl from King City, California, tragically lost her life on December 2, 2008. Esther was attending a youth soccer game at King City High School when she and her 15-year-old brother were struck by gunfire while sitting in the spectator bleachers. The shooting was a result of gang violence, with the intended target being a rival gang member who was also present at the game.
