Andrew Garcia, a 21-year-old man, was convicted of first-degree murder for his role in the brutal killing of Xinran Ji, a 24-year-old graduate student from the University of Southern California (USC). The incident occurred on July 24, 2014, when Ji was walking home near USC’s South Los Angeles campus after a late-night study session.
