Manuel Guadalupe Piñon, aged 48, tragically lost his life on October 5, 2011, in Cupertino, California. He was attending a routine safety meeting at the Lehigh Hanson Permanente Cement Plant when a disgruntled employee, Shareef Allman, opened fire on his coworkers. Allman, who was reportedly upset with his job, left the meeting, retrieved a .223-caliber semi-automatic rifle and a .40-caliber handgun from his car, and returned to the meeting to carry out the attack.
