David Hernandez Gonzalez, a 42-year-old Latino, was tragically shot and killed on September 19, 2013, in Wilmington, Los Angeles. The incident occurred near North Avalon Boulevard and East D Street. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records, Gonzalez was on a bicycle and had stopped at an intersection when he engaged in a brief conversation with another man. During this exchange, the man pulled out a handgun and fired at Gonzalez. The assailant then fled westbound on East D Street.
