Steven Ascencio, an 18-year-old resident of Pasadena, California, tragically lost his life on February 17, 2014, in a drive-by shooting. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. in the 1400 block of El Sereno Avenue. Ascencio was struck by gunfire and pronounced dead at the scene. The shooting also left two other teenagers injured, though they survived their wounds. Witnesses reported hearing gunfire and seeing a late-model white SUV near the area at the time of the shooting.
