Steven Kohus, a 26-year-old Marine from Twentynine Palms, California, tragically lost his life on March 2, 2014. Kohus, originally from Morrow, Ohio, was a dedicated Marine who had served since 2010. He was a motor-transport mechanic attached to the 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment. On the night of his death, officers responded to a shooting at a residence on Saladin Avenue in Twentynine Palms.
