Moises De Jesus Rodriguez, a 20-year-old Latino, was tragically shot and killed on August 17, 2014, in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records, Rodriguez had just exited his apartment building around 1:30 a.m. and was on his way to meet two female friends who were parked nearby. They planned to go to a local Jack in the Box restaurant.
As Rodriguez approached the car, a black vehicle pulled up, and an individual inside the car opened fire, striking Rodriguez. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:40 a.m. The two female friends who were with him were unharmed during the incident.
The investigation into Rodriguez's death was handled by the Los Angeles Police Department's Rampart Division. Despite efforts to gather information and leads, the case remains unsolved. Detectives urged anyone with information to come forward, offering anonymity through Crime Stoppers. The lack of witnesses and concrete evidence has made it challenging to identify the perpetrator or establish a clear motive for the shooting.
