On a Tuesday evening in Baltimore, Maryland, the life of James A. Steadman IV, a 26-year-old African-American man, was tragically cut short. On October 10, 2017, Steadman was found on East Baltimore Street with fatal gunshot wounds. His death was one of over 300 homicides in a city grappling with a high rate of violent crime that year.
