Gilbert Lopez, a 23-year-old resident of Indio, California, was tragically killed on March 11, 2015. His body was discovered in a common area inside the Encanto Apartments at 46725 Clinton Street, shortly after 8 p.m. that evening. Lopez had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The incident marked the first homicide in Indio for the year 2015 and the 11th in the Coachella Valley.
