Lakeisha Glendora Lynall, a 32-year-old Latina, was tragically shot and killed on March 25, 2015, in Westmont, California. The incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. in an alley located in the 1000 block of West 105th Street. Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and found Lynall with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:25 a.m. by Ed Winter, the assistant chief of investigations for the coroner’s office.
The investigation quickly led to a suspect, Victor Daniel Terrazas, a 28-year-old Latino man who had been in a relationship with Lynall for about four years. Deputies put out a suspect description on the radio, and approximately 20 minutes later, they located Terrazas in an alley near the 10200 block of South Vermont Avenue. When deputies approached, Terrazas fired at them, prompting the deputies to return fire. Terrazas was killed in the exchange. A shotgun, believed to be the weapon used to kill Lynall, was recovered at the scene.
The relationship between Lynall and Terrazas was reportedly tumultuous, though the exact motive for the shooting remains unclear. Authorities mentioned that there was a conversation between Lynall and Terrazas before the shooting, but the details of that conversation are unknown. The case highlights the tragic consequences of domestic violence and the swift response by law enforcement to apprehend the suspect.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau conducted the investigation, and they urged anyone with additional information to come forward. Despite the tragic end to both Lynall and Terrazas, the case underscores the importance of addressing domestic violence and providing support to those in abusive relationships.
