Carlos Martin Ortiz, a 44-year-old resident of Compton, California, was tragically killed on June 9, 2015. Ortiz was riding his bicycle along Santa Fe Avenue when a dark-colored sedan approached him. According to witness reports and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, a passenger in the vehicle, described as a black male, exited the car and opened fire, striking Ortiz multiple times in the chest.
