James Scott, a 44-year-old man from Gardena, California, was tragically shot and killed on July 8, 2015. The incident occurred in the early morning hours on the 3300 block of Marine Avenue. Scott was found by his former girlfriend on the sidewalk near her residence and was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:28 a.m. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records, Scott had been released from jail the previous evening after serving time for a misdemeanor charge related to domestic violence
