Kaelyn Michael Tarin, a 19-year-old Latino, was found dead on January 17, 2016, in the 4700 block of North Figueroa Street in Highland Park, Los Angeles. According to the Los Angeles County coroner's records, Tarin was discovered inside a tent at Sycamore Grove Park with multiple gunshot wounds. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) responded to reports of a suspicious death around 12:12 p.m. and pronounced Tarin dead at the scene shortly after noon.
