On August 29, 2016, a tragic incident occurred at the Renee Jennex Small Family Home, a state-licensed care facility for adults with developmental disabilities in Temecula, California. Among the five individuals who perished in the fire was 26-year-old Jarred Prudhomme. Prudhomme, who had been diagnosed with autism at the age of three, was non-verbal and required assistance with daily living tasks.
