Russell Lavell McNeil Jr., a 35-year-old man from Los Angeles, was tragically shot and killed on October 7, 2016. The incident occurred in the 1000 block of West 122nd Street in the South Los Angeles neighborhood of Athens. According to reports, McNeil was sitting on a block wall outside his house, waiting for his date to pick him up, when an unknown assailant approached and opened fire.
