On October 8, 2016, Jerry Sisson, an 81-year-old resident of Fortuna, California, was found dead alongside his son, Steve Sisson, aged 50, in what authorities determined to be a tragic murder-suicide. The Fortuna Police Department responded to a call reporting two unresponsive males at a residence on Emerald Lane.
