Antonia Herrera, a 23-year-old woman from Escondido, California, was tragically found dead on January 12, 2017. Her body was discovered on the side of Champagne Boulevard in unincorporated Escondido, near Interstate 15. Initially, the circumstances surrounding her death were shrouded in mystery, but it was later confirmed that she had been shot to death. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department ruled her death a homicide, although the details of her autopsy were sealed.
