On February 23, 2017, five-year-old Kason Guyton tragically lost his life in a shooting incident in Bakersfield, California. The incident occurred following an alleged confrontation at the Valley Plaza Mall involving members of rival gangs. Kason was in a car driven by Dayvon Vercher, an alleged member of the East Side Crips, along with his seven-year-old brother Bryan Guyton Jr. and Vercher's girlfriend.
