Karen Elaine Sykes Smith, a 53-year-old special education teacher, tragically lost her life on April 10, 2017, in a horrific incident at North Park Elementary School in San Bernardino, California. Smith was in her classroom when her estranged husband, Cedric Anderson, entered and opened fire.
