Gabriel Hernandez Rangel, a 23-year-old resident of Salinas, California, was tragically killed on May 13, 2017. On that evening, around 10:47 p.m., Gabriel was visiting relatives in the area when he was confronted by suspects in front of a home on Paloma Avenue. The confrontation quickly escalated, and Gabriel was gunned down by members of a group later identified as the "murder squad." This group was known for targeting individuals in a series of violent attacks throughout Salinas in 2017.
