Monica Nicole Ruiz, a 31-year-old Latina, tragically lost her life on August 31, 2017, in a drive-by shooting in Wilmington, Los Angeles. The incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. in the 300 block of West D Street, where Ruiz was visiting her mother.
