Francisco Trejo Jr., a 19-year-old resident of Lake View Terrace, Los Angeles, was tragically killed on October 16, 2017. Trejo was found with multiple gunshot wounds inside his dark-colored GMC Yukon, which had crashed into the Discovery Cube, a children's museum, after he attempted to flee the scene. The vehicle was located about a block away at Osborne Street and Foothill Boulevard.
The suspect in the shooting was described as a heavy-set Latino man driving a blue Toyota Camry, possibly a model from 2004 to 2009. The suspect's vehicle pulled up on the passenger side of Trejo's car while he was stopped at a red light and opened fire. Despite efforts to escape, Trejo succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner confirmed his death at 2:36 p.m. An autopsy was conducted to determine the exact cause of death, which was ruled as multiple gunshot wounds.
